Mammals in North America

Discussions on Exposing the Big Game and elsewhere got me thinking about the mammals of North America. Opinions and history there are different from the opinions and history here in Britain and elsewhere in the Old World, which you can read about under my tag ‘shooting’.

Here’s a 2004 review about range contractions of North American carnivores and ungulates. Here’s a website about carnivores and another about ungulates.

About argylesock

I wrote a PhD about veterinary parasitology so that's the starting point for this blog. But I'm now branching out into other areas of biology and into popular science writing. I'll write here about science that happens in landscapes, particularly farmland, and about science involving interspecific interactions. Datasets and statistics get my attention. Exactly where this blog will lead? That's a journey that I'm on and I hope you'll come with me.
